Lard is fat from a pig. You can find it in some supermarkets in little tubs. People nowadays replace it with butter, but some people still enjoy using lard for things like pie crusts.

And egg tart? Hmmm.. a quiche lorraine?

Egg tart could be quiche.
Defenition of quiche according to Larousse :
tarte salée garnie de petits morceaux de lards que l'on recouvre d'un mélange de crème et d'oeufs battus.Meaning :
A salted tart garnished with little peaces of bacon topped with a mixture of cream and scrambled eggs.

For "egg tart", it all depends whether it's a sweet or salty meal. If it's sweet, then "tarte aux œufs" is the right translation. Otherwise it's "tourte aux œufs".

As for "lard", it's the fat of the pig but if you mean the meat, then it's "bacon".
