Budweiser does not allow him to. Besides, I don't think he wants to. He likes his free time too much. He does want to race a few more than he does, but not a full schedule. What he really wants is to race in his own JR Motorsports car. But, Budweiser is too afraid of something happening (injury) and will not allow him to do much racing out of Cup. I.e., he is not allowed to do the Prelude at Eldora either. He goes and signs autographs, but can not race.

I believe it has alot to do with sponsors too ,I heard Dale Jr talk about it last year after MIS race .

He doesn't need to. Besides, racing at both events adds a ton of stress on the driver and crews. He is racing both at Bristol, and usually does both at the big tracks. (Taladega (sp) and Daytona)

Budweiser limits the number of "other than cup " races he can compete in. In his contract with them.
