This message is primarily directed at guys for they are more superficial as to who they date/marry.

Turn offs with gastric surgery:

1. Knowing the girl you are with used to be 300 pounds
2. The girl will only be able to eat a cup of food at a time.
3. It will take 30 to 45 minutes to eat the cup of food (has to chew carefully).
4. The girl will never be able to eat unhealthy food.
5. Extra precautions would be needed if the girl ever became pregnant.
6. 7 small scars on stomach. Only noticeable upon close inspection.

Note: Physically the girl would have a well-shaped body. The girl has a pretty face, nice eyes (blue-gray), lips (full lips, the lips girls pay money to have). The girl is sweet and laughs at everything (always giggling). The girl has average intelligence and works as a paralegal.

Wow hon. Sounds like you need to work on your self esteem issues. None of your list should matter to someone who is in love with you. Seriously! That's the trouble with these types of surgery, you lose weight, but you don't lose the reasons/issues you were obese in the first place. I would recommend going to therapy to deal with your issues before you start transferring your food addiction to another addiction (i.e. alcoholism, drugs, sex, gambling, etc.

I hate to tell you this, but women are just as superficial and sometimes EVEN MORE than men. I agree with a previous poster: your self esteem is in need of some treatment.

If you continue to hold onto this, guys WILL pick up on it and be turned off (not by the surgery or the weight, but your obsession).

Best of luck with your surgery and please add some counseling - it will do a world of good!

What one should worry about is what drove her to weight 300 pounds in the first place. If it was a physical disease, I see no problem,. but if some kind of mental disorder, that may have an impact on the relationship...

As a man, I'd definitely ask her out and try to check out her body to see the scars... the rest, if any, will come on its own...

Sure. Why would that make any difference? I am not superficial. I don't judge someone on their physical past esp. when they have made great strides on imroving themselves. If you truly love her, her body shape would be insignificant.
