Again dmd has it right !!! I will give the explanation and you guys can have a blast disproving it. The bible teaches that from the restoration of Isreal ( it was returned to nation status in 1948), that it would be 72 years till the destruction of Jerusalem. Is there any reference to the destruction of Jerusalem? Yes. Christ and an apostle were walking along and the apostle said "are not all these buildings great? Then Christ answered " I tell you , there will come a time when not one stone of these buildings will stand atop another"! Why will Jaerulsalem be destroyed ? Because satan will have been in the holy temple there for 5 months performing miracles and claiming to be the christ. Now let us do the math . This is where all the braniacs will shine. So, 1948 plus Seventy-two more years = the year 2020 correct? Ok! Not done yet. The book of Daniel and the book of revelation both allude to a subtraction of seven years,( they are the same seven year time period not 14 years ) Daniel says one "week "(a 7yr period) will be omitted, Revelation says that satans stay in the holy temple will be reduced to five months instead of 7 yrs for the sake of gods elect. Now the 7 years mentioned in danieal and revelation , are they already subtracted leaving 72 years =2020 or are we to subtract it from the 72 =2013? It is written that it is not for man to know the time when the Real christ returns( I did mention that satan comes first for five months) , but we ARE to know the SEASON. It should be abundantly clear that the season is between 2013 and 2020! Again kudos to dmd cause she got in one again. Atheist not withstanding, I know somewhere out there someone will be interested in checking this out. They can check it out and email their results and comments. And AGAIN the world is NOT going to end , just a time period ends. This old earth is going to always be here , just like my mother inlaw ,wellaway!

Only God knows when He will intervene to bring an end to the world's evil and establish Christ's rule—but you can be certain it will happen. As Jesus ascended into heaven after His resurrection the angels promised, "This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back" (Acts 1:11).
Although God hasn't given us an exact timetable, the Bible does tell us to be prepared for Christ's coming. When He comes again, most people will be caught off guard, thinking that this world is going to continue the same way it always has. This is why Jesus said to His disciples, "So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him" (Matthew 24:44).
At the same time, the Bible does tell us that certain things must happen before Christ returns—signs that will point to His coming. For example, Jesus said that "this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world ... and then the end will come" (Matthew 24:14). This is happening today more than ever, through the use of the mass media and the Internet, as well as the efforts of missionaries and evangelists throughout the world.
The most important question, however, is this: Are we ready to meet Christ—either when He returns or when we face death? We can be, by turning to Him in repentance and faith, and committing our lives to Him. Has this happened in your life?

The fact that there is strife within and among the churches MAY be one of the signs of the end times.
The folks at Family Radio believe the Final Judgment and Second Coming of Christ will be in the fall of 2011.
For example see the book “Time Has an End” on line at:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_cont.html
This group, whose primary teacher is one Harold Camping, also believes the Church Age has ended in 1988 and believers are to come out of the churches as they are now under the control of malevolent forces now that the Tribulation has begun. According to this group, this is why there is so much strife between and within church groups.
See the book Time Has an End, Ch. 10:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_ch10.html
That said, the online audio lectures at Family Radio, are illuminating and worth a listen:
See: http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/echoes/frame/download/download.html
Finally, for the offline version of the Family Radio nightly call in show, where folks ask questions about the bible to Mr. Camping, see:
http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/forum/frame/
I am not endorsing Family Radio’s doctrines, but one is able to learn quite a bit by listening to these materials.
Most of what you will read about the end times are pre-millennial views: the view that Christ's return will usher in a future millennium of Messianic rule mentioned in the book of Revelation before the final judgment. The believers of this doctrine also hold to the notion of a Rapture of the righteous beforehand.
Others hold that there will be only one second coming of Christ, at the time of the Final Judgment.
Then there are mixtures involving the views of the seven year tribulation and whether it is happening now, will happen later, etc.
These doctrines all fall under the general heading known as the study of end times, or eschatology.
For explanations of the various eschatological beliefs see: http://www.religioustolerance.org/millenni.htm

I believe that we are very much in the end of times. My primary source is the Bible. The most awakening prophecy about the end times in the Bible is where it says "Mens knowledge will increase." Think about the thousands of years the earth has been around- it has only been the last 50-100years that knowledge has really increased. We have technology now that our grandparents would have laughed at 100 years ago. The Bible also references to earthquakes and other natural disasters that will happen in the last days.
So, yes, I believe we are in the end of times.

Yes, I believe we have been living it the end of times for over 2000 years. I believe this because Jesus Christ came to the earth(around 2000 years ago) and the prophesies in the Old testament are and have been coming true.
The end of this age will come and go, and then a new age will begin when Christ returns to set up His 1000 year kingdom.

No, I do not. We'd like to think that our lives are so important that the world will end with us, but the awful fact is that we are really not all that significant.
The awful fact is that each of us dies alone, as C. P. Snow once noted. Given that all we know and feel and remember of the world is housed in our brain, and that each of us is aware of our own impendiing death, we get the notion that when our brains die, the world dies with us.
Here are a few more predictions of the end of the world by some other enormously important people:

Yes we are in the end times. Why? Because it's always the end times. Jesus lived in the end times as you may recall. The end of the first millenium was the end times, the end of the second millenium was the end times...and so on.
It's like WWI and WWII were both the war to end all wars. WWIII will be too.

I most certainly do. Scripture points to it very clearly. There is no doubt that we are living in the end of the end times. Jesus will return very soon to a city near you, so you better get saved.
Blessings to you!

ummm well we have a few things that are proof we are in the end times- such as the war- terrorism going on in the world, floods, ect.
but these always have been going on since the Isrealite's time,
so we will never know until the day Jesus decides to come back
