Of course it should be legal. Whenever our government bans things that people want to do, then the criminals take over. Interesting that before prohibition organized crime was barely a factor in the big picture and during the 1920's they became a very large problem. It is the same with illegal drugs.
Might as well legalize them, as to chase the pushers around and even if caught, another takes his place.
You have the chance to see this in action. The heavy taxes placed on cigarettes will cause a giant leap in crime. That I guarantee. The Mayor of NYC, Bloomberg, is already complaining about cigarette bootlegging and of course it was him that caused that to happen. So, all the money collected in taxes on cigarettes will go to pay for more police to stop the smuggling, guaranteed. That is our government in action. The DEA has been around for about 35 years and have cost the taxpayers billions of dollars. And not one person who wants to use drugs has any trouble finding them.

If a man or a woman wants to be a prostitute, or wants to earn money by selling their bodies, I would say yes to legalization of prostitution. Why? Who are the government to tell us what to do with our body.
If the government say that it is immoral or that God had not intend us to do so, than they are hypocrites. Why? I thought that the government is a separate entity than that of the church. If they say that they can not have prayers in school because the government wants no involvement with chuch doctrines, then why are they telling us that it is a sin to do what we want for a job.
I think that the every one that makes stupid laws should just kill themself or commit suicide for being a stupid lawmakers.

yes.
- it has been around since forever, so legal or not it is not going away. EVERY country in the world has prostitutes plying their trade.
- that said, why not legalise it? Currently, it is deep in the crime scene with women trade, drug abuse, violence, and assorted other nastiness, not to mention the lack of proper hygiene standards and possible disease vectors
- legalised, it could be controlled, legislated, and taxed.

I'm rather in favor of it because of what happens when something in demand is illegal. Just look at prohibition. Liquor was driven underground and bootleggers got rich. Now liquor is regulated and taxed. There will always be a demand for sex. Do it right.

Oh this one should be interesting.
I'm pretty much a libertarian so yes, I think it should be legal. What two consenting adults agree to do is their business. If it were legal, it would be safer and could be regulated.

No, because it breaks down the morals of the society. If a woman has strong morals, you have a strong society. Besides, these woman who prostitute won't have love and compassion from a husband when they're older because noone will care about them. Also, I don't think a man would marry a woman he knows was a prostitute. I wouldn't.

Yes. I do. I think that it would be much safer if it were regulated. I don't care what two people do behind closed doors. I just don't want women having to die for their choices.

Absolutely... To help take power away from the corrupt - like the end of prohibition took (some) power away from organized crime. Also, to tax it, help workers, reduce disease...
