Stop acting that way and when others act that way call them on it....in public if need be. That would do more than anything to improve Christianity's lousy image.

The reason that most non-Christians don't understand "God's love" is because of the people pretend to be God's voice. Many are bigoted and racist and prejudiced, and because of this, they seem contradictory. I know that not all Christians are like this, but these few people stand out from the crowd and drive people away. These are the people that non-Christians remember. They remember intolerance more than love.
Another reason is the elitist attitude that many Christians seem to carry. They make it seem like they are the best people in the world, when in the reality of it, some have the biggest skeletons in their closets.
These are but two reasons why. There are many more. History is filled with examples on why people stereotype Christians.
Have a pleasant day!

It's not that I don't understand God's love, it's just the way of christianity isn't for me. Your path is not my path. I am a witch. I'm not evil, even though your bible says I am. I won't ever kill someone because it is against my beliefs as well. Why don't you understand that christianity isn't only one path to peace?

Yes the hard hearted ones are the ones the christian need to take under their wing and be won over. It is too bad they don't see it this way. May take until the end of days to do this.

The unfortunate thing is that the vast majority of Christians who post and answer here are just like you, telling the rest of us that your way is the only way.
It's not.
Look at your last question. It's presumptive, arrogant and narrow-minded. You are only reinforcing the prevailing stereotype of most active Y!A Christians.

why don't you understand that many other people have their own gods and our own beliefs?
when you ask me why i do not understand god's love i take it as a borderline attack against my beliefs. because even in this simple question you are stating that your god is the only one worth worshiping..
at least that is what people like myself see. and we see it this way because of the endless propeganda that is forced on us. by members of your religion. Papers on our cars, and taped to our doors. missionaries knocking on our doors. countless billboards and a slew of radio and television shows telling me that i am going to some Hell that i do not even believe in.
when you ask a question like that, even as well meaning and nice as you put it, place yourself on the recieving end of the question and substitute the name of your God with any other. and then you will understand why people get so defensive.

I believe you answered your own question, about why people stereotype xians. And if you don't want people to think that they are all bible thumpers, I reccomend you don't be a bible thumper after asking why people think of xians as them.
