We are slaves to our beliefs and perceptions.

For example, Henry Ford noted: 'whether you think you can't or think you can't - you are right'.

Another example: if we think the world is against us, the world will appear to be against us. But, if we think the world is nothing but opportunities, we will live our life according to that belief.
