Cut down on meat - bulk out with beans or lentils. Pasta bake is filling, cheap and nutritious - use a tin (or a pack - Sainsburys basics are in a pack) of chopped tomatoes instead of pasta sauce. It's a tenth the price. Go shopping in the late evening if you can - anything which is at the very end of its "use before" date will be massively reduced. If you don't want to eat it for a few days, put it in the freezer as soon as you get home. Make sure you get the cheapest version of veg - ready prepared costs loads, and often (though not always) the shrinkwrapped stuff costs more than the loose ones which you bag yourself. Don't buy single snacks, chocolate bars, crisps, drinks etc. - get a supermarket multipack.

To make girl kids: Sugar, spice and everything nice

For boys: Snakes and tails...just joking!

Watch Sandra Dee Almost Homeade on the food channel. She cooks for kids a lot and has good ideas.

Cook your cousin stuff like fajitas or nachos-stuff that is mostly self assembly but not too difficult. Or use a George Forman grill to make a varity of panini sandwhiches.

Sweetie, kids love to get in the kitchen.I am not going to refer you to a book, but i will give you a couple recipes that might be a little fun for the younger ones and a site that might be helpful..

Quick Kid Friendly Pizza
6 egg mcmuffins(You will make 12 individual pizzas with this)
One can of your favorite pizza sauce.
Various cheese(Examples:Mozzarella,Cheddar,Montery Jack,Parmesan)
Various Toppings(Examples:Mushrooms, banana peppers, olives. For the meat lovers:Pepperoni,(Cooked over course)sausage, and ham.

Set oven to 350.Open each egg mcmuffin. This will be your crust.Layer sauce, cheese, and toppings..Allow them to create their own masterpiece,if you will.Place on a cookie sheet, and bake in the oven when the cheese begins to melt, turn on broiler until golden.Serve.These are usually a hit.

Extremely Easy Peanut Butter cookies
1 egg(or egg replacer equivilant to)
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar

Mix together and drop by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray.Mark each ball with a pattern with a fork.Turn the fork one way and press, turn it the opposite and press.Bake in the oven at 350.These will flatten as they bake, they will also be a more "crumbly" cookie.Let them cool before you begin to remove them from the cookie sheet as this will eliminate them breaking as much.
