Questions like this one will showcase the ignorance of some fundies.

Sexuality is not a choice and not something that anyone should be ashamed of. Paul was a homophobe and all his writings reflect that.

I do not understand your question. Should it read like this?

As homosexuality is a normal variation, like height or IQ, should tall people walk on their knees and intelligent people act dumb?

(Note: I changed your punctuation, for clarity's sake.)

If that's the case, I fail to understand your reasoning. Are you saying that it logically follows that those who engage in homosexual relationships are being less than they are capable of being, because God (that is, you) prefers them to engage in heterosexual relationships?

Your argument is full of fake logic. No point of logic can be based on God's will, as you can't PROVE God's will. You have apparently assumed that God agrees with you (rather than the other way around, which demonstrates humility, instead of your arrogance). Try to construct a more cohesive argument (with correct punctuation this time), then come back and try again.

Your analogy is not a valid one. Homosexuality is NOT a normal human variation so you can not compare it to height or IQ. Nice try though. Here's an idea. If you chose not to conform to Biblical ideals then why does it bother you that some think you must? I often wonder why it is that atheist and homosexuals seem to find it so important to prove Christians wrong or Christianity false. do what you want to do and except the consequences (if there are any ) of your actions and don't look for approval from the rest of the world. There is nothing that anyone could say or do to make me turn my belief system from christianity. There are those who say I am deluded and that when I die there will be nothing past death. OK if that's what happens then I will have been proved wrong but I will never know until I actually die. So I believe what I chose to believe and I don't need justification for my beliefs as they are mine.

'Gays' should only deny their relationships if they come to believe, in their hearts, that such relationships are offensive to God, and that they just cannot go on in their current lifestyle. One should never change just to make other people happy, as that would be dishonest - and I believe that God wants you to be honest with yourself; one should only 'conform to Biblical ideals' if you feel that it's the next step to deliverance.

No they should not, as being tall is not a sin, and being intelligent is not a sin. Performing homosexual acts however IS a sin, a very serious one. (Romans 1:26,27) It is not true that people "cannot help" being a homosexual, anymore than a fornicator, an adulterer, a murderer, or a pedophile cannot help doing the things they do. Ridiculous! God does not ask more from us than we can do. Perhaps a person may have been born with more of a tendency towards weakness in this area, just as a person may be born with a tendency towards alcoholism. But with God's help we can overcome our weaknesses and sinful tendencies and bring our lives into harmony with his will. That is the only way to attain true happiness. Period.

no one says you have to conform to our ways, I don't see you asking me to conform to the ways of being gay.

anyone who says one should conform is just a person who lacks a place to stand themselves, so they feel more comfortable directing traffic in the middle of the road.

cause anyone who fully believes in G_D and the bible, clearly knows to not push, shove, scream the Bible at anyone, for any reason. we also know not to hate those that sin, just to hate the sin itself. and we know not to call others a name or a fool. so if someone does any of this, and then claims they wear a title of a religion, dismiss them, for they are a liar. Just as the bible says they are, tells us flat up to call these people liars.

I think people of any group, no matter what it is....gay, left, right, Republican, smoker, non smoker, etc.....always feels like they are being pushed on...but its mainly imaginary due to the human basics of protecting what you believe and think.

TV doesn't help any...for it preaches nothing but fear and hate in everything it does. TV should be 100% PBS...public broadcasting systems....then each of us, of every group would have a fair and equal shake as this country was founded on.

Is Homosexuality "Right" or "Wrong"?

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful...the Best Knower.

A question was asked about whether homosexuality is "right" or "wrong"..."good" or "bad".

Well...I think we all would agree that we are not just "living in" this universe, but we are "part of" it. As such, our existence is governed by the same set of Laws that govern the Solar System and the Atom, and others. We live in a Universe that is filled with Life, and it is obvious to ME that there is a Supreme Intelligence that is moving all life forward to some destination or destiny.

Since it is also obvious that the common urge or impulse of all Life is to "Survive", then this must be the Aim of the Supreme Being...to promote Life...to perpetuate Life...to evolve Life.

That which is "good" is that which "promotes Life" or the "greatest good" for all.
That which is "bad" is that which suppresses or opposes or hinders Life.

Life requires the interaction between positive(electric) and negative(magnetic) potentials. When the positive (electric) potential comes within close proximity of the negative (magnetic) potential, a transfer of energy takes place, and a "spark" of Life is produced.

If two "like potentials" are brought within close proximity to one another, they will be repelled from one another, and no energy transfer can take place...hence, Life cannot take place from that interaction.

We can see this in our childhood experiments with magnets. When we put like poles together, they push away from each other, and it takes great effort to get them to touch each other. However, when released from that external force, the internal force in them immediately pushes them away from each other.

When we put "opposite" poles together, we observe a very strong attraction that begins to have an effect before they actually touch each other. In fact, it takes great effort to keep them from touching each other when they are that close together.

This is the Nature of things, this is the Law of Life; and this is why Homosexuality is "wrong" or "bad". But this does NOT justify mistreating someone because they made a "wrong" or "bad" choice...for we all make such choices of different sorts, correct?

While it is true that we have the freedom to choose what kind of life we live, we must understand that we live in a Universe that is goverened by very exact and inflexible Laws, which ensure Order and Balance and the Continuance of Life in this Universe. There is no getting around this. This is why broken bones mend, cuts heal, bells stop ringing after being struck, ripples in water fade away.

All of this is "caused" by the Laws which govern our existence. And since we are all governed by the same Universal Laws, we are all connected to each other. What affects one, affects all...even if unnoticeably. Therefore, our actions affect not only ourselves, but everyone around us.

From this we can see that with "freedom of choice" comes great "responsibility". Yes, we are free to choose, but we must be RESPONSIBLE enough to choose that which is not just "pleasurable" to us as individuals, but we should strive to develop the will to choose that which is in the best interests of ourselves and the world we live in.

When we make a choice that is contrary to the Law of Life, we feel the effects of that choice in our being. Some call it guilt, some call it frustration, some call it stress...but it is really just the Universal Law working to correct the "disturbance" we created by our making a choice that was not in Harmony with the Nature of our Existence.

Yes...We do have the freedom to choose, but we cannot escape the consequences of our choices.

>> I believe that homosexuality in most (there may be some abnormalities in some; I just have not seen the research that proves beyond a shawdow of a doubt ) is a choice just as cheating on your spouse is a choice, just as bestiality is a choice, just as pedophilia is a choice, just as prostitution is a choice, etc. So, as long as you repent of the sinful nature you are forgiven. If you know that you are going to continue to commit the same sin then it is not true repentance.

Well, first we would have to accept your view that it is a "normal" variation, which it is not. God would not allow for a variation that is sinful. Not to mention in nature when a species has a "variation" that is against its natural tendencies we call them abnormalities or mutations. If we were a zoo keeper or even a person that breeded animals we would take such "variations" and dispose of them as they are unwanted and unnatural.

I guess if God meant for homosexuality to be an avenue for a "normal" human, then the beasts of the field must be smarter than we are...I've never seen two male dogs going at it, cats, or any other animals. I have a hard time understanding homo...being any kind of sexual...My kid can even put a puzzle together...Same concept if you ask me?

Homosexuality is not a normal human variation. Where ever did you get that idea? It is a behavior and very unnatural.
When we learn what is pleasing and displeasing to God, we all have had to make changes in our behavior. Before I learned that certain acts were displeasing to God, I really enjoyed them, but now, knowing how my Creator feels about them, I would never even consider doing them. The life that he has given me is so precious and I appreciate it so much, that I will very willingly change whatever I need to change in order to be approved by him. His Word, the Bible, is a very loving letter to us and in it he tells us of the benefits of obeying him and of applying his standards to our lives(everlasting life). He also has told us of the consequences of doing things without regard for his standards and by treating him with disrespect (everlasting death).

Romans 1:26-32: "That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; 27 and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error.
28 And just as they did not approve of holding God in accurate knowledge, God gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting, 29 filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious disposition, being whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, insolent, haughty, self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless. 32 Although these know full well the righteous decree of God, that those practicing such things are deserving of death, they not only keep on doing them but also consent with those practicing them."
