I feel and share your concern for these children. The problem in these third world countries is often their own corrupt, barbaric leadership. American care groups and the United Nations are doing their best to solve these problems...but it makes me sick when the governments of these poor children hijack and steal the food and medicine we send them.

Bilbo and to everyone else who's interested in India and Britain's presence. India replaced into not in any respect a colony. A colony replaced into an section the position human beings went to settle and start up a clean existence faraway from plausible non secular or political persecution. India replaced right into a trading submit that were given particularly tremendous. The British beat the French on the conflict of Plessey and took over their commerce. Being a island we are at heart a trading united states, therefore the East India corporation. It replaced into because of this commerce that British directors and later their households went out to India to organise the commerce effectively . Britain's legacy in India replaced into preparation; Engineering; Judiciary, the military (the British military's presence kept out the Russians who had to bypass East), the Indian Civil service and very last yet by ability of no ability least the English Language. I do desire instructors of historic previous may get this straightforward actuality correct.

I Can only put it like this.
A solider walks into a war torn country and upon his arrival finds the bodies of ten children. The solider is sickened to his stomach and grieves for the children and believes it to be the worst thing he has ever seen.
The solider continues through parts of the country and shortly see's another pile of children's bodies and that sick feeling comes back and he says a prayer.
To speed this up!
Soldier See's more bodies - says a prayer
Soldier again See's more bodies - moves on without much of a second thought.
Unfortunately 30,000 children dying each day has become a normality to which we can emotionally switch off from, though it may seem wrong, most of us do. Writing that has made me feel guilty about that fact, but I'm sure when I wake up in the morning it will be forgotten.
Appalling when you think about it but true in most our cases.

Yep! Spot-on babe.
The answer ?
Those on the top of the pile get to make the most "noise". The further down the pile you find yourself the less "Value" you get to be considered.
I live and work in Uganda I deal with it each and every day.
As for "Oxfam / Action Aid - Red Nose " etc. not worth a DAM. The reason for there existence is not to help those at the bottom but to provide a "conduit-for-cash" from those at the top with a guilty conscience to try to "buy" their way into heaven with a clean slate.
The effect they have here is Negligible" other than on the bank accounts of the the "big people" at head office and the local country director types!

America was a rich and developed country who ironically thought themselves invincible. The attack was unexpected.
People are not shocked or thrown when a genocide or a famine happens in the Third World it is expected. Big charity events like Red Nose Day only exacerbate the problem as they further desensitise people's reactions to seeing extreme poverty/suffering.

It's all about selling advertising, Smiley. Because terrorism is not an everyday event in the USA, the media makes a HUGE deal out of it, sensationalizing the event, and therefore making even bigger profits by selling more advertising. As it happens, I have personally been around this old ball of mud and seen with my own eyes what you speak of. Horrible is half a word to describe it.

If you'll do a bit more research, you'll see the extent to which America supports efforts to protect and save those children.. Through governmental assistance to their countries, and through private donations, via Unicef, World Vision, the Peace corps...
We help them a lot... the need is just overwhelming...

You must be able to distinguish between natural death and terrorist attacks.Thease two are not compareable.Death due to poverty can be averted through WHO or UN assisted programmes.Terrorism like 9/11 cannot be anticipated or prevented.

It IS mentioned, it IS recognised.
What do you think Comic Relief/Oxfam/Save the Children/countless other charities are doing??
Why do you think we keep getting appeals for help through our letterboxes with the mail?
Haven't you seen appeals on TV in the advert breaks?
Does the "Liveaid", "Make poverty history", "Live8" mean nothing to you?
Good grief! take an interest in current affairs and don't try to lay YOUR guilt trip on others!!
