Ok. So I happen to like this guy, right. Ok his name is Mat. Ok. So I like Mat, but it just so happens that Mat's best friend, cameron likes me. Cameron and I have been frineds for a very long time. Cameron knows that I like Mat but has promised not to say anything. Cameron does not know that I know who he likes (me).
I really really like Mat. I mean like I am head over heals. He is cute and nice and funny and has an AMAZING smile. Like that only better. Anyway, one of Mat and my mutual frineds and I were hanging out today. After a while, she said, "you know, Mat may like you." I was happy, but slightly suprised considering he had told he jus the other day that he liked a different girl. I said "really?" she replied "ya, he is always quiet around you, and doesnt talk much. thats kinda his way of flirting." I thought to myself. He doesnt talk to me, how is he flirting??? but hey, she has known him longer than I have so OK. But cameron told mat that he likes me.
what do i do?

Well it could be one of two things. One he could be quiet around you because he is nervous and not sure what to say because he likes you or that he could be backing off seeing as how Mat knows that Cameron likes you now. Maybe Mat could like you but the only way to know is to ask him yourself. Let him know you like him. I know that is going to be hard, but why wonder "what if?" You will beat yourself done with millions of questions without a real answer. So I would just tell him. If you really can't tell him, then flirt with him a bit and see his reaction. Another thing is maybe Cameron knows that Mat likes you therefore he told Mat that he liked you so Mat won't go after you. I mean wouldn't you back off of a guy for your friend if you really didn't think you had a chance with him and she seemed to really like him? I believe you would. So just talk to him and don't worry so much. Good luck.

You could try to talk to Cameron and say:
you know, i think it's awfully nice that you like me, but i think it was best that we remain ot become friends. You know I like MAt, and I would like to try to get to know him. If things don't work out between us, then we can try us together for a while. I'm really sorry.
