Okay the stretch I have the most problem holding is when you lay down and hold up ur body with both ur hands. I am really tight so is their any way I can improve that stretch like ways to hold it longer then half a minute?

Do a little bit of stretching everyday, try it after you have shower because the hot water would have loosened you muscles and made it easier for you to stretch. Just do as much as you can each day and little by little you will be able to stretch more.

When I was in high school I learnt how to do the splits by just doing a bit everyday, I can still do them now

I agree with everyone above me...Try Yoga or Pilates
You could also stretch alot, Streching can be done anywhere/anytime: In front of the tv during you 'must watch' show for example

Maybe it's a question of balance and position. Bring your legs up higher. Yoga classes would help if your not already doing them.

go for a slow but brisk walk to warm up

try yoga, pilates or ballet...you will be very flexible then.
