In the special K diet you are supposed to replace your regular breakfast and lunch with a bowl of cereal and skim milk. Then eat a sensible dinner. Of course you will lose weight because you are replacing what is most probably at least a 400 calorie breakfast and dinner (800 total) with what is probably a 200 cal breakfast and dinner saving you 400 calories a day while keeping your dinner menu slim too.
And lets be honest, with a reg burger coming in at 350 calories and no allowance for snacks that's just cutting calories. If you wanted to spend your calories on something else but still kept it to 200 calories, it would be the same thing. But, you would be surprised at how small the servings are to make 200 calories of anything. Its still the same old story, portion and calorie control and exercise.

No one food is a good diet, you need a variety. Are you talking about a diet to loose weight? A little Special-K without sugar and low fat milk would be fine. Add a half grapefruit and you have a good breakfast. :-)

lol, u need more than cereal and granola bars to live on. spacial k is healthy for breakfest but not for a diet. you need nutrients! So the diet isn't so great but one bowl a day might be good.

My mom tried that, she lost a few pounds but she lived on the toilet because of all the fiber...needless to say, she didn't stick with it...lol

No, they make you hungry. I think because their glycaemic index is high. But they are tasty and healthy.
