Has anyone dealt with Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue? I've sent in applications to adopt a Shiba for my fiance and myself, but they still haven't gotten back to me. Anyone had success with them? Any suggestions for things I can do?

Im not sure if they have or know of anyone, but try looking up Akasta Akitas, or Japanese Akitas and Shibas. The person who runs the website for The Japanese Akitas and Shibas is my Father. He lives in Missouri. He breeds them, but he might know of a rescue. Akasta Akitas also breeds Shibas and she lives in Texas. She might know of a rescue. Good Luck:)

Have you followed up with them? Lots of times adoption agencies with high demand animals like it when you show go-getumness and follow-up and touch base regularly.

Are you clearly a qualified home for a shiba? Meaning you don't work 8 hours a day, have lots of time for walks and training, have dog experience, can afford vet care, etc? One tactic of rescue workers is to simply not call people back if they don't feel they are qualified. It doesn't mean that you aren't, but you should follow up to clarify and address any concerns that they may have.

I commend you for wanting to rescue. There are so many fabulous dogs that end up in rescue, through no fault of their own. Good luck to you and I hope it works out! : )

Maybe they didn't get the application, or they don't have anything at this time that fits your lifestyle. In either case contact them, just to make sure. All they can do is to tell you what's going on. If they don't find you a home that they are willing to adopt to, they'll tell you that too.. At least you'll know.
