We took then to a vet and the vet told us that they both have a punctured lung. The kittens have benn left in a room by themselves with there mother. I randomly cheked up them throughout the day. Any ideas what could have caused the injury? They were born about a week early.

Well maybe there is something wrong with the mother wich in that case you should take her to the vet ASAP or maybe to much handling when the mother was pregnant. It could also be that the kittens were moving to much and got twisted. Anyway I hope that everything goes the right way!

Would have to know more details...could've been anything.
Do you realize that for every 1 person born, there are 7 puppies and kittens
born? At best, 1 will find a forever home.
And don't forget, that every "Free-to-good-home" litter takes homes away
from animals already at the shelter.

STOP letting your pets; or your friends, relatives or co-workers pets
contribute to the problem.
If you love animals, it is NOT ENOUGH to merely say "My pets are fixed".
Vow to educate and enable others to fix their pets too.
Spaying just 1 female dog or cat, will prevent 6 others from ending up in a
shelter the following year.
Please be part of the solution, NOT the problem!
Thank you. ^..^

The condition of the kittens could have been a birth defect. It hurts to see something that small and helpless die.I raised three kittens the mother abandoned. One of them didn't make it.But the other two were adopted out.Now a year old.

Could be anything from being underdeveloped to being overly handled to being hurt by the mom. Do your care for the kittens that are left and get the mom spayed as soon as the vet says it's safe.

Was this her first litter? It's very common for at least one kitten to not survive when it's the mama's first time giving birth.
I hope your remaining kittens make it, and I'm sorry one of them died. After they're weaned, I hope you plan on spaying Mama Cat; it's cruel to continue adding to the already overwhelming pet overpopulation.

since they were born early the cat shared a deformations. its not your fault. but it might be the mother i recommend the mom gets a check up to see if it is her. or the cats might gotten hit and of smacked by something while still developing.
