I finally decided on a date for my wedding, April 5th 2008, and I would like to use pink and white tiger lillies but i would also like to add colors of turqouise to the wedding colors. Any "themes" i could go with or colors? and centerpiece ideas if you have any. This wedding is going to be a formal wedding in a catholic church and a 400-500 guest reception. Very elegant, any ideas?

PINK tiger lilies? I am swooning right now, from the deliciousness of it all.....wow...I can see them right now in a cascading bunch for your bouquet....maybe add a silvery-turquoise sprig of that shiny stuff in there, but don't over do the turquoise as an accent, it's a strong color and could overwhelm the delicate pinkness of the lilies...
Centerpiece could be angels with an individual lily flower ....little cherub vases and stick one flower in each.
Don't overdo whatever you do, simpler is better. Elegant, simple, clean.
Mmmmm I can smell the lilies now....thanks for making my day!

For centrepieces at my wedding which is in 2 weeks, I used Flower Girl Baskets/Purses made of satin with beaded handles and made flower arrangements in them for each table. You can find someone who does crafts and go on a shopping spree to a store like a Michaels Arts & Crafts Store and they could help you pick something and you could pay them to do up your centrepieces.
If you like the idea of the small round bowls, you can take 4 real Tiger Lillies (try with 4 silk to see if you like the look first) and lay them around the bottom with a little bit of the turquoise sand. Gentle fill with water and the flowers should stay along the bottom (along the edges of the bowl) but beautifully opened up. You could add a floating candle or two in each bowl.
And don't forget to keep the theme when ordering your cake. I made a 9 tier cake (5 tiers reaching almost 4 1/2' tall, with 2 sets of 2 tiers on each of the other sides with stairs and bridesmaids and groomsmen on them connecting them all). On top of the very bottom tier was a waterfall and you could use turquoise tinted water - it would look beautiful. Have some silk or real pink petals around the cake on the table and it would be amazing.
Good luck with your wedding.

i was thinking turquoise before i even read the rest of the question. i think that maybe a "cool-Caribbean" theme would be pretty. as far as center pieces go, i have always wanted a big wedding (which i didn't get to have - i got married in the courthouse) i think it would be so beautiful if you had the Lillie's in a big, tall rounded vase with long stems going down to the bottom. in the water, you could have some beta fish, or some of those big fat goldfish. i cant explain all of my ideas, but i have so many great ones. i think i would make an awesome wedding planner. i cant really recommend many theme's b/c i don't know you or your personality.
Good Luck and Congratulations

You can go turqouise and stargazer lilies or tiger lilies. or a dusty purple. Stargazer lilies (pink) with sterling roses (purple), ivy and white accents would be gorgeous. The only thing to be aware of is that while these are beautiful flowers they tend to stink - so talk to the florist.
How bout silver accents? Hurricane lamps always look pretty with candles, silver framed quotes or verses on love, white and pink rose petals sprinkled on the tables with ivy, silver glitter, white crystal rocks --- thinking long tables here with the hurricanes in the middle, ivy trailing down the table, white/silver or pink gauzy ribbons intertwined, the rose petals and crystals sprinkled around, and perhaps little white lights (battery op).
Tulle is always cheap and looks soft and pretty (buy it in the widest width and cut it in thirds!) as does organza. Twine it with little white lights, ivy, silk flowers in your colors. This looks pretty around pillars and also down the middle of the table especially with votives in clear cups alternated down the table. You can have bouqets of fresh flowers every few tables (centers) or even cut flowers gathered with a pretty bow laying on their "side" on the ends. The boquets look pretty in clear jars/vases with a coordinating bow.
you can adjust these for round tables fairly easily as well.
I would stick with cool color accents if you go with the pink and turquoise, if you go t and orange then use gold instead of silver.
Both these ideas look lovely and elegant and are cheap!

Please don't use fish as centerpieces. They're living creatures and not decorations. The conditions they would be in would be stressful for the fish, and the last thing you want your guests looking at would be dead fish floating around. Plus, what would you do with the live fish at the end of the reception?
Here are some tiger lily ideas:
