Everytime I reinstall Windows, it gets assigned to I: drive instead of C:. My card reader gets the C drive. I have already changed the BIOS to read first the CD, than the HD, but if I reinstall Windows it goes to the I drive again. In the installation proccess I can't choose the drive letter. How can I do that??

I am trying to install Windows from a formatted HD. Should I disconnect the card reader from the MOBO?

There is probably some way to specify but the easiest solution is probably to just physical disconnect the card reader during the installation process. After windows is installed on the c drive re-install the card reader. You can manually assign drive letters in windows but I don't think you can re-assign the drive letter of the system drive.

There is a MS article on assigning drive letters here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307844

I had this problem, wot i had to do was disconnect all external extras such as the card reader, just leavecd drives and floppy if you have one connected, once windows is loaded correctly then reconnect the card reader etc, good luck with this, it fixed it for me

Uninstall the card reader, the HD is supposed to take priority, over any other kind of drive.
