The star fruit or carambola (Averrhoa carambola), is a unique, waxy, golden yellow to green fruit that has a 5 pointed star shape when cut across the middle of the fruit.
The Salmonberry (Rubus spectabilis) of the family Rosaceae is an erect shrub with yellow to orange to red berries. It is related to the raspberry and blackberry.
Salmonberries are found in moist forests and stream margins from Alaska to Northern California, especially in the coastal forests, where they are native.
The Seagrape (Coccoloba uvifera) is a sprawling bush or small tree that is found near sea beaches throughout tropical America and the Caribbean, including southern Florida. Good for making jam.
Salal (Gaultheria shallon, Ericaceae) is a leathery-leaved shrub native to western North America. Its dark blue berries are edible, with a unique flavor. Salal berries were a significant food resource for the native people.
