Yes as they are full of protein, however if they are salted be sure to drink lots of water when munching on them. Be sure they are eaten in moderation. Your stomach will digest peanut butter better and it is also healthy (try to get the brand with the lowest sugar added however). I spoke with my doctor about not having time to eat lunch sometimes and I was told that protein is very important, so we looked at vending machine choices and agreed I should snack on peanuts before any other kind of snack. Then I heard about how good they are by watching the Food Network on TV.

Peanuts, peanut butter and peanut oil are excellent sources of heart-healthy, unsaturated fats, like those found in olive oil: more than 75% of the total fat content is unsaturated
Peanuts are 25% protein, with high levels of the amino acid arginine
Peanuts contain resveratrol (also found in red wine), plant sterols and other phytochemicals which research is indicating have cardio-protective and cancer inhibiting properties
Peanuts and peanut butter contain "hard to get" minerals such as zinc, magnesium, copper and selenium
Peanuts and peanut butter contain B-vitamins, folate and Vitamin E
Peanuts and peanut butter are natural sources of soluble and insoluble fibre (non-starch polysaccharides)
Peanuts and peanut butter are plant foods and contain no cholesterol
Peanuts have a very low glycaemic index (14) and they promote good dental health because they do not form decay-causing acids in the mouth when eaten

In addition to containing good unsaturated fat, peanuts provide plant protein and fibre, as well as vitamin E, folate, potassium, magnesium, and zinc, all of which are thought to be important to health. Peanuts also contain bioactive components such as phytosterols, flavonoids, and antioxidants, the benefits of which nutrition scientists are only beginning to discover. It's also been observed that when people eat peanuts, they feel very satisfied and naturally decrease food consumption at other times of the day, ie., less snacking.

Many people don't realize that peanuts are high in unsaturated fat, which research shows is HEART-HEALTHY. Peanuts also contain resveratrol, found in red wine and grapes, which helps protect circulation and heart function and helps fight free radical damage. There are about 73 micrograms of resveratrol in an ounce of peanuts, 160 in an ounce of red wine. Peanuts are also a good source of vitamin E, folate, fiber, protein, phytochemicals (beneficial chemicals from plants) and minerals — which seems to make them powerful disease fighters. It is preferably better to eat the unsalted varieties.

Peanuts are good for you, in moderation. They are a good source of protein and are packed with vitamins and nutrients. Just be wary of overly salted peanuts or how they are cooked ( if they add MSG not)

Peanuts like red wine and grapes, have been shown to contain resveratrol. Resveratrol acts as an antioxidant and can reduce the oxidation of bad cholesterol in the arteries. Antioxidants like resveratrol and vitamin E - also found in peanuts, are believed to reduce the risk of cancer as well as heart disease.

All nuts taken in moderation are good for you. But one has to be careful about peanuts & walnuts, some people are allergic to them, at times they can even be fatal in rare cases.
