You should have gotten a pin number a few days after receiving your card. You also have to make sure the card gives the option of cash advances, not all do. When in doubt call the number on the back of the card and make sure it is ok.

The PIN number will be the same for use in shops or cash machines. However, some credit card companies will only allow a percentage of your available credit as cash so it may be wise to phone Barclaycard up and see if any restrictions have been placed on your account.
Barclaycard number: 0870 1540154.

Have your card details ready if you decide to phone.

With credit you may not have any actual "Cash Advance" limits. This is money you can withdraw from an ATM. It's not a wise idea, since it's usually charged at a much much higher percentage rate. Or maybe you used it so much that your account as been flagged for "suspicious activity." This happens when you make large purchases or purchases out of your normal routine, which happens often when initially starting out. Simply takes a call to the customer service number to have it cleared.
But my bet is on the first one. You haven't sufficient "Cash Advance" funds available for an ATM withdraw.

There is always a 4 digit pin number whether your using it at a cashpoint or in the shops. You are normally surposed to activate them in a cashpoint machine before you start using them. It may be however, that your card company is issuing a security alert ( just routine to make sure that no fraud is taking place by someone else). It is worth you giving the company a ring to check this out, just in case your card has been cloned e.t.c

i ended utilizing them after i ended having them. I decrease them up. Now I in person-friendly words use my economic corporation debit card and that i could be careful to in person-friendly words spend what I definitely have. in case you fairly won't be able to end flow on your community customer credit Counseling provider (CCCS). I did that many years in the past and they helped me wreck my habit and helped me with paying off the $27,000 in debt I amassed.

Sometimes you may have to ring up the issuer to activate it?, If not may be a dodgy machine in the shop, happened to me in iceland.
