I am 17 years old and dont have a license or a permit yet... i was wondering.. if i can get my permit w/o going to a drivers ed class and was wondering if my parents will be eligble to teach me to drive and not an instructor because i am 17.... pls help....

Well, I cannot speak for every state in the U.S., but in my state..it is a requirement that you attend some type of formal driving training. Whether or not its a summer course [lasts a couple of weeks] or a 6 hour course, it is entirely up to you. It would be a great idea for you to have your parents train you a bit prior to the testing, but more than likely..you will still have to have that formal training in order for you to take the driving test. I took the 6 week summer driving course, it isn't that bad and you learn a great deal.

Go to drivers ed class get ur permit then send in for your licence and go to the DMV to take a drivers test to get your licence

you most likely HAVE to take the drivers ed class...u proabbly cant just get a permit...u have to have so many hours before you get your license too...
