The canned beans are already cooked so it's just a matter of warming them up.I usually let mine heat in a crockpot but the stovetop will do on low heat.
I add brown sugar, mollases, barbecue sauce and dry mustard to mine.Yummy!! Tastes like homemade.
To 2 tins of beans I would add...........
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup mollases
1/4 cup bbq sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard.
If there is any liquid in the beans when you open them drain it off before adding the rest of ingredients.
If you don't have dry mustard don't worry as it just gives them a little extra zing.

RE:
Best way to cook baked beans?
We're having a little cookout tonight and have two cans of Busch's baked beans - what's the best and quickest way to cook them..? My grandmother usually mixes ketchup and brown sugar or something in with them, but I'm not sure how much to use and can't get a hold of her. Any...

Bushes are usually great by themselves, but for two cans you can still add a small chopped onion, about 1/2 cup ketchup, about1/4 c brown sugar... just put some in and taste them, even cold you get the idea what they will taste like. Have fun at the cook out

I always add dark karo surup, and brown sugar, topped with bacon. 2 cans would equal 1 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 cups surup.
Ketchup NEVER.
Bake 45 minutes.

Add a big gob of ketchup, some mustard, about 4 tables spoons of brown sugar, and some powdered cloves. the cloves are the ticket man....put in an oven proof pan and bake at 300 for an hour then 200 for about 4 hours, you will melt when you taste this stuff, i swear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, how your granny does it works ok
its even better with pork of some kind, even just a little
make some ham or bacon, brown it first, maybe an onion and garlic too
I usually just use black beans instead, simpler, cheaper and healthier, very versatile
like 70 cents a can so unless you live in a very poor developing nation don't mess with soaking the hard ones
