That may be true. But the vast majority of Christians are using their religion as an excuse to oppress and abuse an entire class of people who are growing militant and tired of their crap.

Well, it is lovely that you "accept" them, but what exactly did homosexuals do to make it necessary for Christians to "accept" or "not accept" them? Fall in love?
Look at the questions from most Christians about gays, Daniel. I think you'll find that it isn't a total lie at all.

(Like Always, I'm Not Christian.) You are right. Being Christian doesn't mean you hate gays. The REASON people say this is because it it a common belief, and has been passed down through generations. I would go further, but I am SLEEPY. YAWN. Oh, and BTW, HOORAY FOR YOU!

Considering the comments I have heard from Christian leaders, such as the Pope, or Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, John Hagee, Jimmy Swaggart (and other Baptist & Pentecostal preachers), it is obvious that their words do nothing except to incite intolerance and bigotry amongst their flocks. So, your statement about the "total lie" is wrong.

A lot of us don't do a good job of truly loving them. We claim to love them and not their sin, but we don't show them the same forgiveness we show others who sin, for example hetersexual adulterers/fornicators. So until we get more Christians to truly show God's love to gay people, we're going to be saddled with a reputation for hating them.

Daniel.. do you see how other "christians" questioned your beliefs for not being against gays? You sound like a decent person, but the evil zealots are out there, and you will occasionally catch flak because of them.
Good for you for thinking for yourself!

Thank you for being a loving member of the human race.
If there are going to be Christians in the world, we need more like you.

No. Not all of them are, but the vast majority of them are full of hatred. That seems completely ironic to be a Christian and hate a group of people.

I don't hate gay people either. In my opinion, God made us all, and there is a reason for every one of us. Those who call themselves Christians but constantly bash gay people, and make it their freakin life's mission to harass them, make me sick.
They don't have to participate, for crying out loud.
P.S Stumpy, grow up.

I tend to distribute my hate on an individual by individual basis
But seriously, all the gay bashing I hear is always backed up with religion.
