Sounds like you found a really nice guy. Congrats! (Sidenote: there's nothing wrong with an online realtionship.)

The thing is, long distance relationships are strenuous. I was in one for a while with a guy that I met online. I completely fell in love with him. Things were great for about a year and a half, but then it just sort of fell apart. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. There was a lot of crying, depression, etc. The good news is that I've moved on and we are still close friends and we talk often.

Moral of the story: Long distance relationships--especially online--hardly ever work. I don't want to give you false hope by saying that it's going to be great and everything will be wonderful and happy. That's not true. There's a very real chance that it will fall through. Trust me.. if it does, it will be hard. It hurts just as bad as it does in a regular close-distance relationship. He just won't be there to see you cry. However, there's always the possibility that if it doesn't work, you've just found yourself a lifelong friend, and that's the best thing to find.

I hope all goes well for you. :)

I'm still trying to get over the shock that you actually met up with someone from over the Internet.

If you both have true feelings for each other, of course it will work out.
