Hi, I have 2 cats and 2 dogs. Dogs get you out for walks, throwing balls...and you get to meet new people. When your tired and want to relax, cats sit on your lap purr and comfort you. Both are great to have. If you treat your pets well, they will always love you back.

They are different species....A differnce between a cat and a dog is that dogs are more agressive then cats. Cats are afraid of dogs. Dogs are a little stupider then cats! (sorry to say) Cats meow and dogs bark. Dogs keep bad people away from your house. Cats are cute and cuddly. Dogs have less fur. (sometimes) Cats hiss at people when they are crankey and dogs well they just snarel at people and show their teeth. They eat different food. I am sure you knew that though. Dogs go fro walks and cats don't. Dogs have bigger teeth but that is only because of how big the dog gets. Cats and dogs play with different toys but not all the time! There are many more ways and I would live to name them but I got to go run! I am sure you get the picture though. :) If you need anymore help then just e-mail me.

As a general rule cats are easier to take care of. And may be better for Apt. dwellers. They don't have to be taken out for walks to use the potty.Like dogs do. Cats can use the litter box. Cats are smaller and cuddle on your lap. Unless you have a very small breed of dog. Cats don't have to be bathed as long as you keep them inside where they should be kept.Dogs for some people are a better choice because they will play more than a cat .But dogs bark at neighbors.....................that can get you into trouble.Dogs are good for people who life in houses. But small dogs do well in apt.s Dogs sometimes bite. I would say it would depend on your like style which is better for you.

Cats:
Cats can sleep 16-20 hours a day (normally).
They are independent creatures and tend to be nocturnal.
They use a litter box instead of going outdoors...however...that means you have to clean the litter box which tends to smell up the house.
Cats need to sharpen their claws and will not always use a scratching post to do so.
Cats LOVE heat and have been known to lay right in front of a fireplace until they are almost too hot to touch, with no effect to them.
Cats climb and get on counters.
They can get illnesses that dogs do not get.
CAts clean themselves and do not really require bathing or grooming as often as dogs.
They easily amuse themselves.
Cats don't often listen to humans and are trainable, but it is not easy.
Cats do not require walks outside or frequent excersise, as they will excersise themselves.
They do not make good guard animals.
They are not often friendly.
Dogs:
They are EVERYTHING that a cat is NOT!!!!
Faithful....playful...friendly...good guard animals....potty outside....loyal.....loving....and an all around good friend to have!!!!!!

cats are more independant. You can leave them at home and not worry about them tearing up your house or barking all day long. They come to you when they want attention, and they can go to the bathroom in a littler box so you dont have to take them outside, very low maitenance. Dogs are very needy, you have to take them outside, they need to play, when you leave them alone for to long they will poop or pee in your house, or bark adn disturb neighbors, dont get me wrong, i love dogs, but if you live in an appartment, or have a time consuming job, your best bet would be to get a cat. Hope that helps :)

A dog likes to play with humans more. Cats are more shy. They look different. I bet their bodies are built differently too.

Dogs wag their tails when they're happy. Cats wag their tails when their mad. Dogs are messy and sloppy, while cats are neat and clean. Both are loving and wonderful pets though.
