the girl says to the guy "youre probably gonna get a gf and forget about me"
the guy says "im allowed to have girl friends."
does he mean girls as friends or girlfriends?
did the girl sound possessive?
and if she did sound possessive would the guy talk to her afterwards?

It sounds as if both partners are insecure of the relationship. Or maybe both feel that its time to move on...
The guy's response is unclear...he might mean girlfriends or girls as friends...but my first initial thought was girlfriends...
Does the girl sound possessive? I think the case here is insecurity...maybe one of guys are afraid to let go....
Well the guy will talk to her afterwards if he wants to work these issues out, if not, he just wants to move on...

He probably meant girls as friends not as a serious relationship, and I thought the girl did sound kind of possesive but not a lot just a bit.

I don't think the girl sounds possessive - I think they are both dancing around the fact that they are going to miss each other - want to hear some sort of commitment, but aren't going to let each other know that that's what they want to hear.

It means she is going to be away at college and she should go ahead and have friend and fun at college and date if she wants to. It also means he is not going to sit and mope and pine while she is gone. He may date if he chooses to.
If they still care about each other when she finishes college they may get back together.

it sounds to me that the guy is sexist. he thinks its alright to have girlfriends while in a relationship. my gf just gets mad if i talk to any girl so i dont. but she talks to other guys and i think its totally fine. just not her ex bf. from wat i understand is that the guy is saying he is allowed to have as many girllfriends as he wants and your not allowed to have any. i dont know its all i can say
