or
They played some other game during the high-stakes poker tournament, such as fruit machines (it doesn't say they were the ones playing the poker)?
or
They were chefs and earnt lots of money at the sitdown dinner beforehand to pay for it all?

Because it was team poker tournament and Jen, Jay, Jeff and Jon were a team..and their team won.
