For one, there is INSTINCT. Ex: A mother needs to protect its offspring.
Second, is the example that if you touch something hot, you get burned, so you don't do it. That is only because of CONDITIONING (learning psychology). It is not universal or common sense. It is learning through experience, or because mom tells you not to do it which is similar to following man-instituted law.

There is the COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS, which is shared by all people and reflects humanity's collective evolutionary history. I suppose it is affected by instinct, society, and culture. (Carl Jung, psychoanalitic theorist/psychologist)

Absolutely, but it's not what many people think it is.

In terms like "common sense" and "common courtesy", the world "common" doesn't mean "readily found"...it means "available to anyone" (as in common folk, not of the educated classes or the propertied classes).

And many folks don't take advantage of that availability.

I am not sure what you mean by common sense, but if you mean are there shared "rules of thumb" that span cultures temporally as well as geographically, then yes there probably is. I would hazard a guess that the number of such guidelines is very small.

Yes, you possess it by virtue of your connection to the Universal Mind, you need only become aware of it to realize that you have always used it to some degree or other. You need only develop it further.
(I know it sounds cliche, but it's true)
My answer to your last question also applies here.

-----Golden-hopes reference to the 'collective' is what I'm referring to.
The universal mind is composed of all the
individual minds contained within it. Similar to the idea that your mind is the result of the combined awareness of the cells that
compose your body.

I would say not. There has not been a custom or moral stance that we have not found an exception for during the long years. Maybe basic physical inputs like smarty mentioned, you know, stuff that would impede survival.

I wish there were. We seem to need it more than ever, yet good sense, whether common or uncommon is so rare.

I would say yes. But some people have no common sense. You either have it or you dont.

Yes, but it is covered over by the world dream as taught by society and religion. It is called truth.
