Hey everyone,
I'd like to find a book or textbook that covers medical diagnosis on a very broad or general (plainly written) level. Does such a thing exist? I'm obviously not a doctor, but I have a science background, and would like to learn the basic techniques/details of determining what a particular illness is based on the symptoms. Of course, I know this doesn't replace medical advice. But I would like to know. Any suggestions are specific works? Thanks.

I know that you can visit any "Stacy's" bookstore and look in the medical section. There is one in SF and a few more from what I hear. Maybe try on-line. This way, you can look through the sections. I would recommend taking a medical terminology course, if possible. These type of books don't come in layman's terms, usually. Sometimes Barnes and Noble or Borders has a smaller section. Look on-line at Amazon.com, too.
