i would suggest using acrylic on wood panel. you are definitely not going to want to use a fabric canvas, as that will get destroyed really quickly. murals are typically painted on walls. If you do not have an actual wall to paint on, use wood panel and figure out some kind of hanging system.

you might want to use a polyurethane coating over the paint.

I'm not sure why you need canvas for a wall painting, but if you must, there is a type of canvas cloth that is sold in large sizes for outdoor displays. It's sort of like the cloth billboards you see for outdoor advertising.
There is also outdoor paint that is designed to withstand the rigors of harsh weather.
I have heard that some painters use automobile paint, supposedly very durable, applied directly to the wall.

not canvas but any other material that can resist weather, like brick!!,(meaning a wall) about paint, your best bet is acrylics, or if you palete is wide choose alkalyd base paint.
