Amoxicillin, like many broad-spectrum antibiotics, kills off beneficial bacteria as well as the nasty ones, and it can cause side affects, either during, or after, the dosage.
Check with a doctor in the next day or so, and make sure.

some people develope a very serious disorder after taking antibiotics- it can be life threatening and can be caused by antibiotics you've taken for years.
your mates puppy could also cause an allergic reaction.
regardless, i think it could be your recent medication. it is called an antibiotic burn.....it's not something you should wait on in regards to seeing a doctor.
my mother n law took antibiotics last year for infection....her skin became rashed, dry and sores were starting to develop...had she of waited any longer, she might not be with us today!

With rashes it is always best to see a doctor, as no matter how much you describe it, it cannot be diagnosed without at least a visual examination.
Also, if you have had any changes to your environment(such as the dog) you want to try to cut off exposure to see if the rash goes away. Most common causes of rashes(other than bacteria) is change of clothing fabric, fabric softener, or laundry detergent

Sounds very much like it is the Puppy that is the problem and it doesn't take any time at all for the symptoms to show themself - unfortunately.
No easy cure - when is the owner back? soon I hope

If the only symptom is the rash, it's probably the puppy. Have you checked it for fleas?

I'd log on to nhsdirect.nhs.uk. A good website and gives you numbers to call if you want to chat to someone who knows a bit more about these things than I do!!
