Just talk to your flat mate and say you don't mind him staying if you are there but when you are not there you would like time to yourself really and not have to worry he is around. You could also hint to him by saying, you will have to start paying rent the amount of time you are here with out your girlfriend. You do need your space when your flat mate is out.

Good luck

uggg i have the same problem! My flatmate has never once come home without him and he is so obnoxious and loud. I also think he is mildly retarded. Hes a bad boyfriend to her too, he wont tell his family they are together and hes extremely selfish. When they come home at night, he will clearly see that I am doing work but starts to ask me the dumbest most irritating questions like "how do you make pasta?" "how long does it take to wash the windows?". I get so frustrated! Then he always walks around with his shirt off, and believe me he has a disgusting body, its so offensive. When she leaves in the morning, he stays around and makes all sorts of foul noises like clearing his nostrils and burping. But the truth is, there is nothing I can say. What I started doing is having my friends over ALL the time, so she could see how irritating it was. But in terms of confronting her, I feel too awkward to say anythign beacuse it would lead her to think that I was insulting her boyfriend and would cause tension between all of us. The only thing i thought of saying was that we didnt get the apartment to be 3 people living together, we got it to be 2. And say that if she is going to have them there all the time, its only fair that you pay less. Im personally too afraid to say it, maybe i will one day.. but for now i just think it everytime i see him.
haha.

I think as you are a paying flat mate you should speak to her and say how you feel.
I think having him there all the time is too much and especially when she is out.
if he is eating there is he contributing to the food bills if he's stayed a month?
At end of day he will be using your utilities whilst he stays.

I'd talk to her

I had this with a previous flat mate and voiced my feelings. After all two of live in the flat not three, I would mention contributing to bills etc and say you need your space in the flat too. x

ask him to leave, if she's not there open the door and tell him to go now, most likely he wants to see if he can get you in bed. are you kidding, it is your home! he's a slouch and a freeloader. don't you know some guy who could muscle him out of there ?

yeah, i see where you are coming from. i would have a talk with them. yes, since they pay half the rent, it is you mate's right to have whomever she wants to in the house. however, he does not live there and should never be there when she is not.
