Christ died with all of mankind's sin on him. God had no choice but to punish Christ because of this. Then christ died. He rose again in 3 days, but during those 3 days was he in hell?

ok well i found this out myself. Jesus did not go to the phyical hell where all of the unsaved will eventually go. But he suffered the equivalent. ALL of mankind's past, present and future sins were punished through christ!! no man can imagine such pain. He did endure hell for us, just not the physical hell. Our sins separated christ from God. He did all that for us :)

Yes Jesus spent 3 days in the grave?
Webster’s Dictionary says that the English word “hell” is equal to the Hebrew word Sheol and the Greek word Hades. In German Bibles Hoelle is the word used instead of “hell”; in Portuguese the word used is inferno, in Spanish infierno, and in French Enfer. The English translators of the Authorized Version, or King James Version, translated Sheol 31 times as “hell,” 31 times as “grave,” and 3 times as “pit.” The Catholic Douay Version translated Sheol 64 times as “hell.” In the Christian Greek Scriptures (commonly called the “New Testament”), the King James Version translated Hades as “hell” each of the 10 times it occurs.—Matthew 11:23; 16:18; Luke 10:15; 16:23; Acts 2:27, 31; Revelation 1:18; 6:8; 20:13, 14. gemhandy@hotmail.com

No. Although he did visit what some would call purgatory to bring Adam and some of the other prophets up to heaven. He did suffer physical hell when he atoned for our sins in the Garden. That was the worst pain, and none of us can imagine how much He went through. His death had to be, and He knew that. We don't really know what He did for the three days before his Resurrection, but I'm sure it was administering to those who had died, and showing them that He had sacrificed everything for them.

He had to get to earth, and the gate to life is called WOMAN and he went thru it-he's God by the way-Jesus is-and the gate to the place where Satan was snatching up the souls of men when they died because they werent perfect under the law's light-that gate's called death, and he went thru it.
Then he, when there, snatched the keys from the devil, the keys of death, hell and the grave, then triumphed over every power of darkness, and made an open show of them (rubbed it in) then split hades in two, and left, entered back into his body, and cruised around jerusalem for awhile, sneaking up on his disciples while they were fishing, and such.

If you believe in the Apostles' Creed then what you say is true.

Because here is the Apostles' Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell

on The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Amen.

Haospoyo, I quite have in no way hear of any thoughts approximately Jesus being in the mythical hell of the devil, yet maximum probable some are around. i does not propose all and sundry to study fake thoughts a pair of individual as significant as Jesus. Why clutter the concepts with fake counsel? In time one might run into the comparable sort of problem as remembering to many sleep desires. desires at a loss for words with fact is a few thing a individual extremely does not choose. i think of one might make extra effectual use of his time by analyzing what the Bible has to assert approximately Jesus, from Genesis to Revelation.

I would say yes, He took our rightfully deserved punishment. And while he was there he beat the snot out of the devil and the demons and took back the power satan conned us out of. Which he still cons many people out of the power God gives each one of us,However he cannot keep it so he uses it to con people into thinking he has the power, when he has none. God gives us power and authority over all the power that the enemy possesses and nothing shall in any way harm us.
But now the devil cannot steal all the power because JESUS is keeping the power for safe keeping. That is why apart from HIM we can do nothing.PRAISE JESUS!!!

There was no "hell" when Jesus "died on the cross." In those times the dead went to Sheol, the underworld of the Old Testament, where the dead dwelt in darkness.

"Hell" is something that Christian writers and translators came up with about 300 years after Jesus was gone.

God didnt punish Christ by sending him to hell. God didnt punish him at all. He chose to die for our sins and suffer through all the pain.

At the time of Jesus, Hell was the land of the dead. Our Creeds professes that Jesus descended into hell. This means that He died. He was dead 3 days then rose from the dead.

I will tell you what I have heard. Paradise and Heaven are 2 different places. Hell is in the center of the earth. Paradise no longer exists, but it used to be also in the center of the earth. Remember when Jesus said to one of the criminals that was crucified next to him, "Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise." That was different from Heaven because after he resurrected he told a woman, "Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to the Father." There was a gulf in between Hell and Paradise. Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus. There was a gulf in between Hell where the rich man was and Paradise where Lazarus was.
