I downloaded sims from thesims2.com, but right now they are just files on my desktop. How do I get it into TheSims2 game? I have a Mac OSX by the way, which isn't a windows, which automatically puts custom content in the game. (please don't give me advice for a windows lol)

I play The Sims on a Mac as well. There are two types of files generally; package files and Sims2Pack files. The package files (which are generally clothing/genetics/hair/objects) go into the Downloads folder which should be in Documents/EAGames/The Sims 2/Downloads. If you don't have the folder, just make one which should work. Sims2Pack files, which are generally houses/wallpaper/floors/full sims, you just double-click on them to get the Package Installer up and press Install. Sadly we've yet to gain a niffy little program which'll allow us Mac users to install these in multiples, so you have to double-click each individual file which can be time consuming. Once you've double-clicked and gone through the Package Installer, that file will be automatically installed.

Hope that helped

Run the game first, then go out and verify even if the folder is there. If I shop in ideas properly, the game doesn't create that folder till you've run it a minimum of once; I had to those days reinstall The Sims 2 on a newly-repaired workstation, and that i imagine the EA video games folder replaced into also lacking till I ran the game. If the folder nonetheless doesn't seem, reinstall.
