Your nose liner is made up of mucus membranes. When it's cold your nose runs to keep the inside moist.

in order to get rid of all the viral pathogens that were trapped in ur cillia.
or to get rid of dust.
or to just keep the inside of ur nose moist. (i guess to prevent nose bleeds...)
so my advice is to not sniff it up cuz it will not help u in getting rid of a cold! LOL!
