ONLY use sunscreen AFTER the tattoo has completely healed!
That being said, I use a sunscreen stick, so I can protect my tattoos without having a lot of overspray or dripping. Its nice to have bright clear tattoos and a tan :o)
Sun is a tattoos worst enemy. Keeping them both covered, with clothing and sunscreen everyday is the way to keep them protected from the UV rays that destrow them.

Just use sunscreen on the general area, it doesnt have to be perfectly just on the tattoo, it will be good for the skin around the area as well. Theres nothing else that will protect it from the sun because its not the heat or anything you are trying to protect it from, its the UV rays.

If it's not healed, then just cover it up with a bandage if you must show some skin around it while in the sun....otherwise just wear clothes over it until it heals. Once healed, there is a yellow "stick" of sunscreen, I can't remember the name, you just dab it on the area you want sunscreen. It has a sponge end to it. You get more control of where you want the sunscreen than a spray on kind. I got mine at wal mart last year.

You can use a sport stick sunscreen, but if the tattoo has thin lines or small detail you can use a chap stick with SPF in it, but it won't hold up if you will be sweating a lot or going swimming. Other than that, your best bet would be to stay out of the sun......

You should really stay out of
the sun, if it is a new tattoo.
With older tattoo's you just
need to apply a moisture
cream about an hour before
using your sunscreen.
If it is in an area hard to reach,
try a spray applicator.

H2Ocean works good. Also, you can apply sunscreen all over if you wish, not just to the tat itself. But I would just stick with buying the H2Ocean.

no way you could protect tattoos from the sun burn, just ignore putting lotion on it and cover it with something!
