Knowing that its true and making some sense of it are two different things.
I dont know if aliens are out there, but it makes sense that we cant be alone in the whole universe.

So I believe in aliens by the sheer fact that it makes sense.

If by making sense you mean that it's right, only you can answer your own question. Heads and hearts clash all the time. You only have to look at failed relationships for that proof, when your head is telling you no, but your heart says yes, yes, yes. Faith is just that; faith, not certainty. You only know if your faith is positive and right by the fruits it produces. This is what faith without works means. Just as works mean nothing without love, love, or faith means nothing if it's just a label that you apply to yourself. In other words, you can have all the faith, material goods and things in the world, but if you don't have Love, it means nothing. This doesn't mean having someone love you, it just means that whatever you do, do in Love. The greatest of all gifts is Love. Hope I haven't confused the issue too much hun. God bless!

Faith will cause your heart and head to clash, and that's ok. God is big enough to handle your questions. He's dealt with some world class doubters such as Noah, Job and even Jesus himself had a final moment of doubt in the Garden.
We aren't made to know all the answers, God is God, and sometimes we have to settle for that. As for the deeper questions, human suffering, why do good people die, etc. We leave that for a later talk, but faith is the cornerstone to build on.

Yes, faith should make sense. If it does not then you would believe in something that you have no real knowledge and it would then be shallow or meaningless. Those people that have faith, whether it be faith that their mom will pick them up after school or those that have faith in God as the one true God, it must be something that can be believed.

Faith makes perfect sense, but it doesn't mean that its a good idea. I've found that the majority of people who preach faith don't even know what it means, if they did they'd be singing a different tune.

Faith is believing the unbelievable. The heart and the head do seem to clash but God's ways are not our ways. Our little finite brains can't grasp God's infinite wisdom.

I believe Anselm said that the task of theology was to be "faith seeking understanding."
Especially in our contemporary times, it is essential that we be able to reconcile our religious beliefs with our experience of the world. Things will clash from time to time, but ultimately, the task is to use our gifts of logic, language and reason to express the inexpressible,

thats the thing! when your heart is in the right place, your head follows. but when enough research is done, there is no need for head and heart to clash, for christianity has so much evidence in mind and phisical proof, that its inmistakeable. so put your faith in god, and he will see you through!!!

Why do you assert that faith makes no sense? What is your definition of faith? Is it idiosyncratic? What is the relationship between faith and reason on your view?

I think that faith is for situations where logic doesn't apply. Sometimes the logical thing isn't necessarily the right thing.
