Is it social pressure or is it something that is born in? the same applies to other methods of self-harm. girls hold the majority of self harmers. Why? is there more pressure in their lives? is it hormonal? it's ironic that men (the big and macho rulers of the world) seem to be in so much less pain overall than women. Please post you thoughts.

also, do you think men are just less likely to reveal their problems?

Too often it seems to me like women just give up on exercising once it gets too difficult to lose weight. Well that happens to everybody but men are more likely to go for the muscle that burns calories all the time.
Women need to realize they don't gain muscle of the same type as men unless they are doing roids our something.
Anybody can be depressed about how they look.

It is hard being a girl. There is so much pressure to be the prettiest. To be the thinnest. I blame the media for making it this way. I also say that self esteem has alot to do with it. The higher it is the better we deal with it.

I think (not being a woman) that It is because women are more pressured to be thin, because I guess they think it looks better. Guys think they should be big and buff, while girls think they should be thin, and they shouldnt. But guys do have them, too.

girls have more eating disorders because they are more self concious of what they look like kinda like the whole thing with it takes a girl 40x longer to get ready than a guy its because if they dont like how they look they try to change it.

Most guys don't care about their looks nearly as much as women do.
