Go with neutral colors. Room colors are personal choices and you could turn off potential buyers if they don't like the colors you have chosen.

Use a color like shell white, or off-white. People tend to see "vanilla" houses as though they have potential- like a canvas that they can choose to paint whatever color they like. If you pick trendy colors, there's bound to be someone who doesn't like it.
So the idea behind a "vanilla shell" is to prepare the place for someone to do whatever they please with it.
Don't spend alot on the paint, because chances are they'll paint over it, but be neat- trim windows, and mask off what you don't want painted. Before painting, get a small tub of spackle and point up any holes in the walls, and smooth out any inconsistencies in the wall texture.
If its sloppy, it will look like you're trying to hide something.

Right now, tans a forest greens are very popular, sometimes accented by a dark red or blue. If you are selling your house, your safest bet is to paint a wall white. This gives the buyer a lot of options, and it loks clean and professional.

you should go for something neutral. Don't pick white though because it makes the house look too impersonal. I would go with a semi dark beige or tan color. If you pick something bolder it could hurt your chances of selling quickly. People dont like to feel like they have to decorate AROUND the house. If they want color, they can pick it out themselves.
