I have been diagnosed with acid reflux and have been taking 1 Nexium tablet daily for about a year and a half. Although it is used for heartburn I have never had heartburn at any time. I wonder if there is a time limit on long you should be on it.

It's a bad idea to stop any medication without checking with your doctor first. Have you thought that the Nexium is the reason you don't have heartburn?

BTW, people are on it for years w/o difficulty.

I wouldn't think so, if you have concerns, stop taking it and see if your symptoms return. If they do, the Nexium is helping, if not, maybe your acid reflux isn't severe enough to need medication.
