If God has a plan for everyone, then there is no point in buying a lottery ticket, because if God wants you to win, you will win even without buying the ticket, and if God doesn't want you to win, then it doesn't matter how much you pray, for God will ignore you. A true Christian cannot by definition believe in luck, since God is responsible for everything that happens. Conversely, if luck exists, then that automatically proves that there is no Godly plan at work in the universe. I know now someone will post a 10,000 word reply that basically means "God's plan is to let things happen by chance."

I agree, and it goes a step further. If God is omnipitant then he already knows everything that will happen, and every choice you will make. This makes all events predetermined.

So, you have no choice in your life if God already knows what will happen. You cannot prove God wrong. Therefore, you're not responsible for anything you do.

When it comes to Christians and gambling, I have to sigh. The Roman soldiers gambled for the robe Christ wore after He was beaten, so I personally don't like gambling or the lottery. As far as believing in luck, well, that's an interesting point. One actually I have not really thought about before. I tell folks "Good Luck" all the time, or that was a "Lucky Shot". I guess for them maybe it is a matter of luck, not knowing their belief. As for myself, I know am of the persuasion that many of the good and bad things that happen in my life are guided by the Father. But just because luck exists, doesn't mean God's existence is false. And God doesn't ignore people who pray to Him, even the ones who come to Him with a wish list like the some kinda Santa Claus. He has three answers: Yes, No and Not now.

Luck is the perception from a viewpoint of ignorance of the future. I believe I am ignorant of the future and therefore lucky at times.
