"Oh my God" is an exclamation that has become current, much in the same way "Holy Crap!" did during the "Everybody Loves Raymond" program's long stretch of popularity.
These things emerge not at religious expressions, but as bits of norma loquendi. They have very little to do with "God."

It's just a phrase. It means nothing.
Kind of like when Christians blow out candles on a birthday cake after making a wish. It's the simplest form of witchcraft (candle magick, to be specific), but it doesn't matter because there's no real meaning behind it. Christians just think it's a fun, traditional thing to do on birthdays. They don't know the real history behind it.
Jeez.

Wait a minute. i don't be counted on God, yet why does that recommend i visit't be counted on ghosts? How the affection did you basically link God and ghosts? that's like retaining, in case you do not have self assurance in the Easter bunny, then how do you clarify the disappearance of the colony on Roanoke? in spite of the undeniable fact that, i don't be counted on ghosts. each each now and then ghosts on stuck on digicam are hoaxes. Plus, there's a lot about technology we do not know yet. those may nicely be organic regularly occurring occurrences that our technologies basically isn't sturdy adequate to describe yet.

Pretty good one... I think its just a state of confusion.
But then again, Christians dont believe in using Gods name in vain...eg "Oh my God!"... So, wouldn't Atheists want to use his name in vain?

Jeez, I just don't know. Probably because that's one of those memes that's passed down from generation to generation. That's the cussing I heard as a child, that's the profanity I use when the situation calls for cussing.

Well, at least for the atheists who say that--they're not taking the Lord's name in vain.
