Thats a fantastic question,
Ideally every mother to be should be checked out to makesure she can provide the right enviroment for a baby/child to be brought up in.
This would then help to stop the abuse and neglect some children suffer at the hands of their horrible (WOULD LOIKE TO CALL THEM SOMETHING ELSE) parents.

i totally agree my husband and i do not want children and quite often people ask us why not but you never hear people say why do you want children
people have children without really thinking about it
if people thought about it properly and had checks and classes to help them make the decision then maybe the rate of people having children who obviously cant cope will decrease
when i walk into town and i see parents with children in the winter and their children have no shoes or socks on or no coat on a cold day or their faces look as though they havent been washed for a month i mean filthy not just messy from a chocolate bar it makes me really cross especially when their are people out their who would love to have children and authorities will not let them foster or adopt,

i think there should be. People are having kids for the worng reason( to keep a man, to get a check, for sympathy, etc) all people should go thru parenting 101, and they should get it in school. I dont mean carrying a bag of flour around for a week, but i mean real life skills that can carry into parenting. Adults should be required to take these classes by the department of human service once they find they are pregnant. It should be mandated like going to prenatal appointments. If you are pregnant and dont find out till you are maybe 4 months then a social worker will be asking you questions once you have the baby. there needs to be the same kind of preocedure with even becoming pregnant qand deciding to parent.

Agreed! Wouldn't it be nice if every parent had to attend a class before they were allowed to bring a baby home?! Biological parents have no idea how difficult it is to adopt a child - fingerprints, background checks, home studies, psych evals. Then once the child comes home, visits to make sure that the child is okay and thriving. It would be nice if the government had the resources to do that for ALL children. :)

Good question. Very "Republic". Unfortuantely, many people who cannot have children who would be excellent loving parents cannot adopt, while others can easily have them, doesnt mean that they should...but I guess that is common knowledge, isnt it.
You have touched on a very interesting, moral, ethical subjective question. I dont know if the answer is out there - but may opinions will be shared.

because you have the child. I'll be damned if i have a child and i have procedures and rule on how to raise him. and plus the kids that get adopted they are owned by the government that's why you get paid to have a foster child. they give money monthly to help provide for the child that includes insurance and dental and ever thing else. sad but the gov. owns that child until its 18 so that's why they have so many rules

i truly believe there should be i no people who have had numerous children taken off them for lots of reasons and they just have more it is wrong. we don't ask to be born and many children have a poor life, drug addicts having children shouldn't be allowed a child born addicted to drugs is so sad and it causes problems with there health. all people should have to sit a test before having a baby thats in a ideal world any way.
