how do I resolve buffer overrun detected issue?

I had that problem with my Internet explorer, wherein every time I would try searching on google, a buffer overrun is detected and my browser would shut down. The problem was that I had malware in my computer that had corrupted some files. I strongly recommend using Lavasoft's Ad-aware. burning a cd? there should be a setting in the burner software!
