I had that problem with my Internet explorer, wherein every time I would try searching on google, a buffer overrun is detected and my browser would shut down. The problem was that I had malware in my computer that had corrupted some files. I strongly recommend using Lavasoft's Ad-aware. I had tried other anti-spyware software, and Ad-aware actually fixed my problem so now my computer runs great! Here's the link: http://www.lavasoft.de/ms/index.htm

Best of luck to you.
