Hands down, Trader Joes is the best place to shop for healthy, out of the ordinary, yummy, and well priced food. They not only provide excellent products, but they are also eco friendly. They use recycled products for their packaging and shopping bags. They are also a lot less than Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Gelson's. A lot less! You can find the same things there ( organic, out of the ordinary items) as in any of those health food stores. The only thing that might hinder you with Trader Joes is their selection. They arent as big as Whole Foods and stores of that sort. They also have a circular called Fearless Flyer. It is filled with their sale and new items and is filled with interesting trivia and tidbits.

I love Trader Joe's. It's a great place to find stuff that isn't available (or super expensive) at a regular grocery store. Their produce is hit-or-miss (in my opinion), but everything else is wonderful. They have a huge selection of organic food, plus a ton of ethnic ingredients. The wine section is very good as well. We don't have a Trader Joe's in my town, but I make a 2 hour trip once or twice a month to go to one!

I only shop there for stuff I can't find at Safeway. And lots of health and ethnic foods. Otherwise, I find the produce overpriced, but everything else seems cheap. They're usually nice stores, people are helpful. But if you're on a tight budget, don't go there, because everything looks so good that you'll buy too much...like going to Costco.
But it is cheaper than Whole Paycheck. (They're putting one in any day now in this town.)

Trader Joe's is fabulous - esp if you like organic food at a very reasonable price. www.traderjoes.com - take a look at their website. We love their organic dairy products, cereal, produce - all of it. They have a product called Trader Oh's (just like Cheerios but $1.99 a box instead of $3.something). They also have great frozen foods (tamales, pizzas, fish, etc). You won't be disappointed. Their snack foods and sweets are great. Love their chocolate covered pretzels and their chocolate truffle bars! Oh yes - their wine Three Buck Chuck - has won all kinds of awards. And it does cost just $3.00! Enjoy!

Yes, Trader Joe's is a good place with comparable price to the local supermarkets.
I think they have a marketing campaign at each store where they compare prices between a local supermarket and their store. Of course, they show their prices are lower than the local supermarket.

Trader Joe's is GREAT!!!! I wish there was one closer to me. They have amazing quality, hard to find products, fantastically affordable prices, and really good sales help. I recommend them very highly! (Plus their graphics and fliers are really neat!)
