When I was a child I hardly ever found studying boring. Sometimes if I really wanted to be doing something else I would not enjoy studying, but generally I found my studies challenging and interesting.

Well, first of all, the words STUDYING and CHILDREN, I think, don't belong together. Maybe that word is good for teenagers when they're studying for exams after they've been taught plenty of material by teachers in the classroom, SAT's, things of that nature. I don't agree with our educational system, I don't think that children should have to go off and STUDY on their own without the teacher. Not children younger than 10. I think they're should be more engaging ways to teach them hands on. Children retain more when it's made interesting to their lives. When material is related to them. Hands on learning is more realistic to the real world anyway. Sure I have good GRADES from college, but have no HANDS ON EXPERIENCE yet. That leads professionals to believe you have no idea what you learned. Kids need to be taught that studying IS borning, and we need to teach them more fun ways to study. Like, play while they're studying at home. They can pretend they're a teacher teaching other children (stuffed animals!) in a classroom. I remember being in grade school and shaking my head at the way the teachers were not good entertainers. Maybe it's just me because I was always creative and imaginative, but I believe if you're going to be paid to teach, you should also know how to fully engage an audience getting them to relate to the subject matter as an actor would. So that's what I think. Studying is boring for everyone, but especially children because they're brains are more colorful. Becoming an adult in the way society leads us to be...takes away a bit of the color with real problems like SAT scores and debt. Best of Luck explaining it to Somya!

Small children really don't know how to study but they are more taught then anything. You make something hands on learning they retain it easier. It is that way for most people no matter the age. Then if it is something they are not interested in then they have a hard time keeping their attention on it. Also depending on their age is their attention span. Generally it is 1 minute for each year of their age. Example if you are 5 your attention span is about 5 minutes long. Of course this also depends on the kid. Also different peole learn different ways I am more a visual learning that means I learn by seeing and experiencing for myself. There are several different types of learning.

It's not necessarily boring, it's more of that they aren't interested in what they are learning. Why don't you ask the question what would make studying more interesting instead of why is it boring. I find school boring, because in order to learn I have to be involved in a conversation, I learn best through lectures, and not text books. If you find what you are studying interesting, as in applying it to the life you live, then it's less boring. Many times, it's boring because a child isn't being challenged enough or isn't learning anything. If it doesn't stimulate interest it's boring. You have to take initiative and be interested, you can't expect knowledge to come if your bored.
Text books and what not are boring because they only present facts, its more interesting to learn the sides and opinions on a subject as well, or it's more interesting when you relate it to life...

Children don't like studying because it's not exciting or fun, but the idea is building critical thinking skills necessary for test taking and doing papers and projects. If your sister doesnt like studying maybe you or someone in your house can create something fun to make it easier for her to grasp and process the subject information she's got homework on.

Studying is boring because you are not motivated to learn. If you are home-schooled, you may not find yourself in a motivational (competitive )situation where you would compet with your friends for good grades. The teacher is also a factor. Maybe your teacher is not motivating you to learn. Then there are those people who are really creative and self motivated. My guess is that you do not fit into that category.

I think its boring because some people dont like to do study on the subject they hate but if they study on the subject they like, then they are probaly getting good grades in that class. But if they dont like to study a certain class, then thats probaly why they are maybe not doing so good in that class
it really depends

classroom activities continue to focus on traditional print texts, and ignore children’s extensive and increasingly sophisticated engagement with multi-literacies, or learning activities that children engage in outside the classroom.
if educators value a greater diversity of interests and align these with everyday classroom activities, then there would be significant improvement in educational opportunities for children from various social, economic, political and historical backgrounds.
Hope there would be a change in teaching scneraios in schools.
....all the best.

I believe it’s only boring if parents don't shape good study habits into their children. If parents do not put emphasis on the importance of studying then the child we see it as something that is unnecessary therefore boring.

because it's work. Unfortunatly there are those subjects that you just have to learn - ie math.
Most subjects can be made more interesting though with a bit of creativity -- what does she really like to do?
Most girls like horses -- so you study them and I mean STUDY --- bones, feed, breeds, foaling, hoof care, body care, vaccinations, etc, etc. Any or all of these involve math, science, history, and others and can be branched out for years!
Kids don't like to study because we feed them bits of info that are unrelated to each other.
