I have a Congo African Grey. His name is Whittle. Training these birds are very easy. Record what ever you would like the bird to say play it on a cassette or CDR then just go about your normal business. Congo grays have just recently been added to one of the smartest creatures on the planet. There up there with Dolphins And chimp because of there cognitive vocabulary. They live to around 90 years of age and get as smart as a six year old child.

My birds have always been treated with gentleness and love, and they have responded to that very well. As for talking, I never tried to teach them, but I talk to them a lot in a voice that is not too loud or harsh. Things that I have said to them a lot, they now repeat over and over. As far as I have seen, if they're happy and relaxed they learn fast. My birds simply sit in their cages when I put them to bed for the night, covered, and chatter until they fall asleep.

i have 6 lovebirds, 4 parakeets and a blue crowned conure. the parrakeets are :
eddy, fluffy, hachi,luna- they are not trained at all.
the lovebirds are:
mango, berry, nehi, wadi, costello and naruto.- all handfed babies and just friendly, we handle them a lot so they are pretty tame
blue crowned conure: paulie, not too friendly makes kissy sounds, does some whistles; we bought him full grown already and he just came around on his own, he is sweet.
