If you read the Bible you will see that the Holy Spirit is loving and caring. So I don't think it was the Holy Spirit. It may have been some type of spirit from the other side. Or maybe it was just bad cake.

There are many forces are there in this planet. Many forces does not have physical body. What you need to look at after you getting in contact with the unknown force, what is the experience you are left with? Were you fearful or sense of relaxation/ completeness. This shall tell you the nature of the force.
