for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
Who is it that overcomes the world? only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. (1 John 5: 4-5)

1st John says those that confess that Jesus is the christ, are "born of God" and this infers that these ones believe he is, right now-PRESENT TENSE-on the throne, and anything we ask, he can do for us.
Like the centuarian said to Jesus "i know how authority works, I tell my workers to go do something, and they get right 0n it, and likewise I know if you only say the word, my daughter can be healed instantly!"
Jesus really liked that this guy got it, and said-"there is no greater faith in all of Israel!"
In other words...someone finally gets it!
So we can have this kind of faith also, right now, and he'll respond and do for us many mighty things, no different then if he was standing right beside us.
Holding onto this truth, is being one born of God.

Um I don't think so even as a christian I see it as if God's own son Jesus can't get everyone to belive than how can some one else. But this should not stop us from going out into the world making disiples of all natons baptizing them in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. God loves you.

The short answer is no. A longer answer would require you to endure may atheistic thoughts - so I'll spare you from that.

To paraphrase Sam Harris - right now a little girl is being horribly injured by a murderer. If not right now, then a few minutes ago or a few minutes from now. Also, right now her parents think she is being protected by an all knowing, all seeing God.

It's silly to think that there is such a God, who lives in the sky, has fundamental rules that to break will cause you eternal damnation -- and he loves you.
