you should always have your better tires on the front of your car no matter front or rear wheel drive; reason being 80% of your breaking is in the front; steer traction in the front ; and if you blow a tire you want it to be in the rear so you can still steer brake and have control of the car

In theory, you should always put your worse tyres on the rear. I tried them on the front, and it caused some major instability - the rear seemed to want to sway back and forth behind me. Since the front is where your stability comes from in a FWD car - due to the extra weight of the engine, as well as having the tyres pull the car instead of pushing from the rear - this would seem to make sense, especially in bad weather, since the rear tyres don't have as much weight to push through deep water, or snow/slush.
However, having bad tyres on the front will compromise your steering and braking, especially under the aforementioned weather conditions. This is the main reason why is it much more important to rotate your tyres when driving a FWD vehicle. They really have too much weight over the front tyres to handle bad tyres - and too little weight over the rear tyres to handle the same.
Your best bet is to try each way carefully, and see which feels better to you, as every model of car will behave differently to this sort of thing.
Good luck!

Rotate your better tires to the front. They should be on your drive wheels if you think about it. Not only that, from turning, they get more wear in the front.

keep your best tires on the front. If you have tire failure, it is much easier to handle a rear wheel blowout. It does not affect steering as much as a front blowout. In any event, bald tires also cause hydroplaning on wet roads, and you shoud not drive with them. Be safe. A blown tire can kill you. get four good tires ASAP

Best tyres on the front to retain best possible steering and traction in a front drive car. If the front tyres are almost bald, you want to BUY NEW FRONT TYRES. If you have almost bald tyres on the back, you risk back end sliding and trying to pass you on each and every turn.

You should have your traction tires on the drive wheels, i.e. if front wheel drive, put them on the front, if rear wheel drive put them on the rear. If 4WD, or AWD, then you should get 4 new tires.

If you are not proficient in the opposite lock, new tires should go to the REAR axle to prevent snap oversteer.
